Firmware Engineer

The world of semiconductors is developing rapidly, which means our test solutions must be future-proof. This creates wonderful technological challenges every day.

As the company grows, we are looking for a proactive Firmware Engineer to contribute to the realization of our high-tech test instruments, which are developed according to the highest quality standards. These high-density and extremely accurate instruments – such as source measurement units (SMU’s), digital I/O, waveform generators and digitizers – are used to test high-end chips that enable the latest technological innovations in the semiconductor industry.

You work closely with colleagues within the department; from system architect and schematic designer to PCB engineer, everyone at Salland contributes to a positive result and a satisfied customer.

What you’ll be doing in your role:

Translate product specifications into FPGA design;

Design, implement and verify firmware for high-tech instruments in ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) and bench test solutions;

Program FPGAs and simulate & verify correct functionality of test instruments;

Keep related design/user documentation up to date;

Responsible for planning and report project progress to the Project Manager.

What we ask from you:

A Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in (embedded) electronics;

Experience in firmware development and hardware design verification;

Knowledge of C++, C#, .NET and VHDL/Verilog;

Solution driven and always aiming for the best result;

Enjoy working together in a team and helpful to others;

Master the Dutch and English language.
