SEM365 - Teradyne A360 upgrade

The SEM365 can fully replace the M365x processor, emulate tester memory up to 4 M and take over the TSD tasks without modifications to your test programs. Running on a modern PC, the processor is faster than the original M365Z, thus offering significant test time reduction and higher trouhghput. We have seen test time reductions up to 60% (the average reduction we have seen is about 35%). With the new processors that are available now an even higher reduction will be possible.

The special replacement of the M365Z/TSD has been designed in a way to add the advantages of a modern environment Operating System to the test floor. The old terminal/text based Teradyne environment is replaced by the graphical Windows environment. The tester will be networked by means of standard (off the shelf) software / hardware. Adding a wide range of connectivity to virtual any fileserver, printer etc. on your network, also remote control / monitoring via another workstation in the network is possible. As an extra, the test time will also be reduced in most circumstances. The local TSD emulator software, making the PDP-11 obsolete replaces all tasks performed by the PDP-11 host.

The upgrade package lowers maintenance costs, expensive spare parts (like MA612, MA613, MA616 and MA605) and the out-dated, difficult to maintain and bulky PDP-11 host are no longer required. In addition, the production on your tester will be increased by means of shorter downtimes, much faster job load and decreased test time.

Salland Engineering also has a processor replacement product for Teradyne J273 testers, SEJ273. Please contact Salland Engineering for more information.

The Full Screen Editor replaces the MOP editor. The full screen editor supports all the features you would expect from a modern Windows based editor. Beside all standard edit features, the SEM365 editor is specially designed to build STEPS job plans. It has an integrated STEPS compiler which runs very fast. The output of the compiler is directly connected to the job plan. Just double click on an error line and the editor will move to the line with the error. The editor also translates the error code to a more readable description. The editor supports color syntax. This helps you edit the job plan since directly the keywords, commands, integers, etc are directly displayed.
