A new life for Advantest® Test Systems...Introduction Owners of Advantest® T33XX, T53XX and T73XX systems know they can look forward to many more years of productive use from their test systems. With the TPx-SE from Salland Engineering you now can bring new life to these Advantest test systems. The TPx-SE is an inexpensive enhancement to the TP test processor that brings all the advantages of a state-of-the-art PC computing environment as well as the potential for expanded capability and productivity improvements.
Software Description
The TPx-SE emulates an Advantest TP processor. It supports the execution of all standard available test software without modification. The TPx-SE uses a Windows operating system. The system replaces the old terminal/text based VKT environment by a graphical Windows environment. TPx-SE allows the addition of customer developed functions to test programs without affecting compatibility with standard Advantest TPx based systems (e.g. custom developed data log tools, remote reporting functions). Hardware Description Salland Engineering has developed the TPx-SE to provide full emulation of the TPx processor. It interfaces with the optional Advansite and can be used standalone or in a PC Network environment. The TPx-SE uses fast dual Pentium processors with the Windows operating system to ensure the best performance and highest reliability. One processor is almost fully dedicated to execution of the test program a second processor handles the user interface and all network-related activity, ensuring repeatable results, regardless of network activity. Users can easily switch between the native TP processor and the enhanced TPx-SE processor. This allows for easy verification/correlation of test programs as well as confirmation of diagnostic failures in accordance with Advantest Support requirements. Networking
The TPx-SE system is designed for a Single node and Multiple nodes. The system may run entirely standalone or with a network connection. Adding the TPx-SE system enables remote access to the test system from a remote workstation. It also offers access to remote file storage for datalogs and program libraries and the ability to direct test system output to any resource on the network, for example: network capabilities for file and printer sharing. In a multiple system environment, the TPx-SE offers a low cost networking solution. In applications where the Advansite is used to support UNIX networking, the TPx-SE can work simultaneous with the existing Advansite. This allows for the implementation of system monitoring and management functions, datalogs and analysis on a remote PC and program transfer across a standard PC without disrupting the existing UNIX functionality. Improved Productivity - Reduce test time up to 60% (on average 25%) depending on the type of test program and the original TP processor.
- Faster network response reduces tester time lost for job loading, tester reboot, etc.
- Dual Processor allows background file transfers and other network requests without impacting test program execution, ensuring repeatability.
Modern Networked Environment - Add PC networking capabilities and the graphical Windows user interface to TP/VKT based stand-alone testers.
- Add inexpensive PC compatible disk space.
- Redirect output to any printer in your network, save it to file, etc.
- Allow remote access to the tester controller via "off the shelf" software.
- Transfer test programs over the network while testing, without impacting test program execution.
- Full support of most industry printers and other peripheral devices and integration into modern data analysis and remote access solutions.
- Replaces the functionality of Advanstar.
Expandable - Execute Windows NT command procedures from within a test program.
- Operate standalone when the network or server is down and upload datalogs & summary when network is restored.
- Convert datalogs and summary data to STDF, Microsoft Excel or standard ASCII format. (Optional)
- Post process test data by user definable scripts (e.g. upload datalogs to a network server).
- Maximize the available memory beyond that available on the Advantest TPx.
- Monitor the TPx-SE systems, showing data such as loaded jobs, logged in users and yield/test head remotely via a web based HTML report.
