Upgrade package for Teradyne A3xx Series test systems
The SEM365 can fully replace the M365x processor, emulate tester memory up to 4 M and take over the TSD tasks without modifications to your test programs. Running on a modern dual Pentium PC, the processor is faster than the original M365Z, thus offering significant test time reduction and higher troughput. We have seen testtime reductions up to 60% (the average reduction we have seen is about 35%). With the new processors that are available now a even higher reduction will be possible.

The special replacement of the M365Z/TSD has been designed in a way to add the advantages of a modern environment Operating System to the test floor. The old terminal/text based Teradyne environment is replaced by the graphical Windows NT environment. The tester will be networked by means of standard (off the shelf) software / hardware. Adding a wide range of connectivity to virtual any fileserver, printer etc. on your network, also remote control / monitoring via another workstation in the network is possible. As an extra, the test time will also be reduced in most circumstances. The local TSD emulator software, making the PDP-11 obsolete replaces all tasks performed by the PDP-11 host.
The upgrade package lowers maintenance costs, expensive spare parts (like MA612, MA613, MA616 and MA605) and the out-dated, difficult to maintain and bulky PDP-11 host are no longer required. In addition, the production on your tester will be increased by means of shorter downtimes, much faster job load and decreased test time.
Salland Engineering also has a processor replacement product for Teradyne J273 testers, SEJ273. Please contact Salland Engineering for more information.
Because we are running Windows NT 4.0 on a dual Pentium system we have enough power to make new tools available for the product engineers and operators. All these tools do not reduce test time the are running parallel to the test process. Some of the new features are listed below.
The console has standard a built in scrollback buffer. The size can be customized. Selections from the console/scrollback can be copied to clipboard. The scrollback buffer can be saved to disk. The console is VT100 compatible and supports color.
The Full Screen Editor replaces the MOP editor. The full screen editor supports all the features you would expect from a modern Windows based editor. Beside all standard edit features, the SEM365 editor is specially designed to build STEPS job plans. It has a integrated STEPS compiler which runs very fast. The output of the compiler is directly connected to the job plan. Just double click on an error line and the editor will move to the line with the error. The editor also translates the error code to a more readable description. The editor supports color syntax. This helps you edit the job plan since directly the keywords, commands, integers, etc are directly displayed.

The Extended Status bar gives you a direct overview of the systems performance, loaded jobs, number of tested devices, etc. The Extended status bar can show test and handling times, the binning info, number of tested devices, a binning chart and a yield chart.

The Operator Console enables you to control the testers operator console from your Windows NT environment. From this window it is possible to halt, boot and interrupt the tester. An other standard feature of the SEM365 is the possibility to redirect the operator console output to a serial port on the Windows NT pc. You can connect a terminal to this port and the terminal will behave like the operator console on the tester. |

This tool display graphically the handler timing signals. The tool can be used to change the handler timing.

The Real Time Web Report option generates a WEB report with information about the systems performance, jobs loaded, etc.
The Real Time Web Report generates a HTML page that can be viewed with every standard web browser. There are web browser available for almost any computer platform available. It is possible to insert the page in your local intranet or on the internet (on a restricted server).

The SEM365 system is a open system for datalog and summary processing. With the system you will receive various filters for postprocessing the summary and datalog information. The filters for ASCII, EXCEL and STDF conversion are installed at default. The SEM365 calls an external procedure from where the summary and datalog are converted to the required format. These procedures can be changed by the customer to be integrated in the companies dataprocessing needs. With SEM365 the datalog can be converted to STDF and automatically uploaded to a host system without any user interaction.
