Examples of what Salland Engineering can do for you!
|
Salland has extensive experience in upgrading existing probers. Upgrades include Electroglas controller, OCR integration and OEM users for optical inspection systems. Key focus is making the production process more efficient, which includes production speed improvement (Ethernet based tester interface, probe pattern optimizer), QA of probing, networking and operator friendliness. The software is open and easily extended using user DLL functionality. |

The Salland Engineering prober software can be easily integrated into most mapping oriented systems such as wafer probers, optical inspection systems or lead-frame based systems.
Salland can help manufacturers or end-users by providing them new functionality for their probing system. Salland is open for customer and manufacturer requests.
Possible projects
- Real time wafer mapping
- Prober control driven from tester
- Extensive tools for wafer analysis
- Fast Ethernet TCP/IP interface to handlers/probers
| Salland has developed modern tester operating systems with modern graphical user interfaces and extensive debug tools for several purposes. An example system is shown in the next picture. This picture shows the whole system of an IDE (Integrated Development Environment). It includes debugging tools, operator interfaces, hardware resource allocation, and fast mixed signal handling. This example is using PC based Windows environment but SUN or other UNIX based developments are also possible. |

Development GUI
The following picture is a picture of the developers interface along with an end result. It shows the test program, variables, debug points and trace levels.

Salland also has extensive experience in profiling test programs to pin point the usage of tester time in a test program.
Web based reporting of system utilization is also possible.

The following picture shows a typical example of the fast digital hardware that Salland can develop. It shows a PC based PCI card used to interface with tester hardware. Salland has developed PC interface cards and tester interface cards. Digital speeds at this moment are 133MHz and 1GHz for internal communications. Salland is familiar with networking and can include embedded operating systems like Linux, QNX, or VXWorks on the hardware.
We
have developed special interfacing for some existing testers to add new options
to the testers. This includes software development on the existing tester operating
system and special hardware interfacing to connect to the hardware. The following
figure shows an example of a special interface to add high current, high speed
VI's to an existing tester.
New customer specific hardware, such as additional VI's, high speed mathematical processing/analyzing units (DFT, FFT, etc.), Test circuits (BIST/BOST) are only a few examples of what Salland Engineering can develop.
Salland has one of the largest independent test application development groups worldwide. As such, we have a lot of experience in analyzing test results. For this group, we have developed a special tool to aid in the process of test result analysis. This tool will report R&R, Cp/CpK as well as the normal min, max, standard deviation and average results. Reports will be table driven and will also include graphic representations. This tool can be integrated in tester platforms to aid in the QA process of test program development/optimization.

Developments in the area of tester data storage or real time product quality assurance are also possible.
Another area of interest is automatically measuring test results and conditionally obsolete tests when statistics probe that the current lot will not fail this particular test. Big test time savings are possible using this technique.
Other possible projects include new data analysis tool integration on ATE and yield tracking tools.
